| New Cam Belt Kit £310 So will be at 60k miles in a few weeks , Main Skoda Dealer has quoted me £310 for the full cam belt kit plus water pump on my Octy 1.9 tdi 130 bhp. Booked in for next week How does this rate on price , could not find an independent in Kent who would do it for substantialy less so taking the dealer route and asked them to check for any warranty work , as it will just be under the 60k mark . |

| Re: New Cam Belt Kit £310 £310 all fitted at a main dealer is a very keen price, especially if that includes the water pump!

| Re: New Cam Belt Kit £310 Thats what i thought , think they have a discount for cars they service , but an independent would have only been £30 cheaper and i have asked the dealer to check for any warranty work at the same time and they agreed so long as the miles are less than 59950 . I will update when it is completed . Thanks |

| Re: New Cam Belt Kit £310 I've just paid £350 for a cambelt incl waterpump and tensioners on the wifes A4 at an indy specialist. I think the Audi's a bit of a bitch for access though so probably more labour charge. Sounds a good price though. |

| Re: New Cam Belt Kit £310 So in theory, should a cambelt change be cheaper on the A4 than the Octy? Assuming labour rates are the same etc.

| Re: New Cam Belt Kit £310 I've just been offered it done on my car (4 years old in Sept) for £100 labour all in by a VW Technician - obviously a backhander but he has done this job 100s of times so should know his way around. I also have a Mercedes mechanic at the end of my road who tends to do all of my work so my loyalties are split ![]() I have been pricing up the parts, looking at GSF and ECP websites - what is the difference between the Timing Belt kit and buying the belt/tensioner separately? Does the kit include the tensioner? Are there any other bits required apart from belt/tensioner/water pump? Cheers, Steven.

| Re: New Cam Belt Kit £310 Just a quick update , had the belt Kit and Pump done on wednesday of this week , all in cost was £329 included the coolant change as well , also had a courtesy car for the day . Glad it is now done and i can tick that job of the list . If any one does get Sherlodge in KENT TO DO THIS JOB GET A DISCOUNTED QUOTE FIRST , it is worth it as the real cost was more like £395 . |
