new owner - a few question Hi All, I've recently bought a 2000 Octavia Elegance 2.0 Estate with 52K on the clock and I'm very pleased with it! I have a few questions that hopefully you'll be able to help me with as it didn't come with a user manual and this is by far the best skoda forum I've come across. • It's got a 6 disc CD in the boot, which worked once and hasn't since. I think the car has been damp for a while inside and I was hoping it just needs a while to dry out, it's been a few weeks now and this doesn't seem to be the case. It worked, then it flashed up with a code which I think was something like TRCD63 or something. Does it sound like it just needs to dry out further or does it need something more? (It's fixed in the rear wing behind a side panel, I lifted it out but the connector wasn't simply a plug in one so it put me off removing it further, this is what I'm going to try when I have some time over Christmas) • Also the interior lights in the boot and over the rear seats do not come on with the light in the front when you get in/open the boot etc. I've checked out the fuses (in the dash compartment buy the drivers door, using my brothers Passat hand book as a guide, in his book there was no fuse for the interior lights) but they all look ok. Any suggestions (although there are a few spaces)? Thanks for any help or suggestions anyone might have! Best, J

Re: new owner - a few question Initially - welcome to briskoda! You can take the CD changer out.... I have removed mine, and it sits on a shelf in the garage now! I'll have a look tomorrow, but from memory, there should be a short section of wire and then a plug then connects into the loom. Rear door lights - I believe these are just push to turn them on..... although some people on here have wired them into the front lights.... The interior boot light, I believe is controlled by a switch within the boot lock - so that might be a harder one to fix...

Re: new owner - a few question Thanks, I'll go and cover the lock with WD40 now. I've also noticed that in first gear, if you leave your hand on the gear stick there are a lot of vibrations, more if the engine is reving harder. It isn't there in the other gears and the car drives well. Do they all do this or should I have it looked at? Ta.

Re: new owner - a few question Hi Jon, If you do come across a user manual I'd be grateful if you could let me know from where. I have the same model as you, 2001, so manual should be the same, thanks, Lorganz
