I replaced the passenger side brake light about a month ago, and now its gone again! Has anyone else had a similar problem to this? could it be a dodgy circuit or something or just a dud bulb?

i bought my vRS with 27K on it - when it had its MOT at 37K it had blown both rear brake lights, meaning it only had the high-level one left

i did think it a little funny...

Yep, being a former area manager for an electrical wholesaler I can extol the virtues of buying brand named bulbs (for both automotive and home). they are manufactured to far better tolerances, much less susceptible to vibration and always last longer than cheap bulbs.

I always grab a load of the free plastic gloves when i'm filling up with with diesel, the're ideal for changing bulbs and not getting finger prints on them. (the oil in your fingerprints can cause hot spots on the bulb, un-even heating and ultimately premature failiure)
