Octavia central locking Hi, I have just bought a rather gorgeous Octavia having just replaced the Mondeo from hell! I got two keys with the vehicle and was wondering if there should be a remote unit- would a 1999 Octavia GLXi be fitted with remote locking or key-operated locking? Thanks for the help Loopy

Re: Octavia central locking Thought all Octavias had remote locking ? Although I may be wrong, do the keys have any buttons on them. Am sure one of the resident experts will be along to give a definate answer soon. .

Re: Octavia central locking I am fairly sure that the GLXi only had manual central locking, and that they have a push button light in the key.

Re: Octavia central locking Thanks for the information folks; I have had a look on Ebay and for under thirty quid have bought a kit to add remote lock/unlock t the car - there were cheaper sets available but the clincher with the one I went for was the remote is built into an Audi/VW style folding keyfob and comes with key blanks and a choice of logo badges including Skoda. Should have a 'factory' feel rather than aftermarket. Ive also bought a reversing sensor kit with a rather tidy-looking LCD panel with blue backlighting; and will replace the existing panel bulbs with blue LEDs as in the late model VWs. Guess I'll be spending more time playing with the car rather than driving it for a couple of days as I have also to fit a bluetooth set for the phone... Regards Loopy
