I am going to look at a Octavia TDi Ambiente Estate tomorrow, its x reg 2001. Its 79,000 on clock 1 year MOT and Taxed , price 2250. What do you think. Also something put a link recently that had al the technical data for cars ie towing capaicty, weight etc etc and I can't find it anywhere anyone got any ideas. Also can someone tell me whats the best an Octavia or a Superb - got to say they both look the same to me. Whats the difference. Anne

Re: Octavia Estate TDI Ambiente sounds like a very good deal to me, check to see if it had the timing belt and water pump done at 60k service. One the octy vs superb thing I'd go for octy as the superb remind me too much of next to last version of the passat.

| Re: Octavia Estate TDI Ambiente Go for the Octy - the boot space is phenominal. As Hammett said check the Cam belt has been done. Also if it has towed check the suspension is still up to the job - the towing capacity should be in the Octy Owners Folder. Octy plus side - large accesable boot, fuel consumption is great. Superb, is an old Passatt, looked at one a few yrs ago, and yes they have more legroom in the rear, but it has a boot, rather than a hatch, i find the hatch a damn sight more useful, especially with 3 kids!

Re: Octavia Estate TDI Ambiente It has not got a towbar so I would think it has not been used for towing. Only down fall is its ORANGE. However it looks like a really nice dark metalic orange more teracota colour. Anyone seen one of these. Anne

Re: Octavia Estate TDI Ambiente I hope, my Information will help you with your decision.. I´ve got an Octy TDi Ambiente built in 2000. Bought it 2003 with 125.000Km ( I´m in Germany )Í have it remapped in 2004 with 160.000 Today it has run 272.000 kilometers .. a few of them on Track ; ) The car has seen the Garage only for service and a few trifles like a defective window lifter. The water pump had to be replaced but it came together with the service, so it wasn´t expensive. Subsuming I only can say .. The Octy was my best decision in cars. Go for it
