| Octavia model "Rider" ????? Saw an Octy with Austrian plates overtaking me on the Autobahn today... The rear badge underneath "OCTAVIA" showed a model type "RIDER" ( instead of 1.9 TDi, vRS,1.6 or anything else ) Anyone an idea what Model it was ?? Has been faster than my TDi ![]() |

| Most probably a custom badge, or he's had it supped up by a company that goes by that name. |

| Octavia "Rider" is not used in the UK, but if you do a google serach it does seem to be a legitimate model designation for others markets (Hungary, Czech and India) - seems that it was an upgrade on Ambiente for younger buyers ![]()

| Googeled around a bit ... The "RIDER" is kind of a special edition. I guess, it was the 130 HP PD TDi who overtook me today .... |

| They did do a "limited edition" Golf Ryder for a while. It was on the Mk3 IIRC

| I own an Octavia 1.8T Rider In Greece we now have Driver and Rider models. They are something like the previous Ambiente and Elegance but not exactly. Mine for example doesn't have rear cabin lights and it's frustrating. The car that passed you could be a 1.8T as the 'Rider' designation is irrelevant of the engine. Aris |
