Octavia near side headlight glass

The glass has been holed by a stone. Is it possible and how do you change just the glass
in the headlight unit.

is it an early octavia or a later mark 1?

if it is a later one I am sure I have seen a headlight on ebay today if it helps

Mine is a 1999 Octavia 1.9Tdi GLX hatchback. The glass can be bought separately from the dealer together with a new gasket. It looks like the glass is held by several spring clips. It may need the whole headlight assembly removing to get all the clips off. Not sure how to do this as the Haynes manual doesn't cover headlight removal. Does the bumper have to be removed to get at the underside ??

Sorted match marked and removed headlight(4 screw bolts) and indicator lens assembly(1 bolt). Unclipped glass cleaned up rebate and fitted new gasket and glass lens (£27 from Skoda dealer).

Do you need to remove the bumper to get the headlight unit out? I've got to replace the lens in my headlamp after a stone went through it.

Yes and it's it's simple to remove the headlight unit !!!

No need to remove the bumper, we usually remove the right hand one when we do cam belts on the diesels.

It makes it easier to get at the spring clips on the intake ducting from the intercooler, as that nees to come off so that you can get at the engine mount.

I´ve changed the glass on the right side and it took me about 10 minutes to do. As said here no need to remove the bumper.
