Talk about the DARK AGES ! lol - i can't see a good reason why they don't switch on when you open the door !!!

Re: Octavia Rear Courtesy Lights

It can be done (and I think it has) but you will lose the ability to switch them on independently.

Mines come on when you open any door. Switch on rear courtesey light has 3 positions 1 on 2 off 3 on when door opens and fades when door closed same as front.

Is your Octy a Mk1? I've never heard of a Mk1 Octy having this feature.

Re: Octavia Rear Courtesy Lights

sorry if what i wrote is confusing, but i thought you wanted the rear courtesy lights to come on when a door is opened, which is what will happen if my instuctions are followed.

I am completely confused. Is it being suggested that the rear courtesy lights can be made to come on by opening the door in a Mk1 Octy? I don't get how.

Adam.

Re: Octavia Rear Courtesy Lights

Yes the rear coutesry lights can be made to come on by opening a door on a mk1 octy,Mine do just that. If my previous post is to confusing... flick rear light on when door is open(and front courtesy light on). Now close door and admire front and rear light dimming in tandem, now open door and admire front and back courtesy lights on together.

Re: Octavia Rear Courtesy Lights

Sorry dude but that supposed switch on the rear courtesy lights only switches them on manually.

I guess i will have to rewire them into the switched output from the courtesy light.

I will do this when I swap the light for a W8 passat version.

By the way - i'm doing a group buy for that and some other great OEM STUFF ON uk-MKIVS if you fancy something........
