Octavia VR6

I know it's not a standard model, but given the amount of Golf DNA in the chassis it must be possible?

Re: Octavia VR6

would have to be the 2.8 24v V6 from the 4Motion, but should be fairly easily done!

Re: Octavia VR6

If you mean the old VR6 lump then I don't see any point, just get a vRS. If you mean the newer 2.8 from the 4motion v6 then I think it's been done but requires custom mounts? I could be talking rubbish though!

Re: Octavia VR6

The 2.8 mounts will fit straight onto the Octavia, same chassis. You would just need a 2wd six speed box unless it was an Octavia 4x4.

Twin turbos are nt really possible on a right hand drive car due to the steering and brake system getting in the way.

Re: Octavia VR6

I agree, with the power that's coming out of the 1.8t the atmo VR6 is looking a bit of an irrelevance, but the VR6 can be supercharged.

Anyway, I was just wondering whether or not anyone'd heard of one, rather than thinking about building one myself.

Re: Octavia VR6

I know someone who fitted a V64M engine and gearbox to a Golf 1.4, all they had to do with the gearbox was block off the transfer box.
