Octy VRS not selecting gears

Worked fine yesterday........got in it today and could not select reverse, just crunching. With a bit of effort I could find the forward gears. Turn engine off and start it up in reverse and this worked but you could feel the clutch dragging. Clutch pedal travel and feel is normal.

Managed to get it to the garage...........will have to wait and see what they come up with but there were mutterings about a clutch change and not covered by warranty. Car has only done 42K miles and I have never had a clutch go before 135K miles. Anyone have any experience of this or similar fault? What was the outcome?

Thanks

Chris

I would suspect it's the clutch. I would have thought the clutch on any turbo car with IRO of 200bhp would go around 50k miles. Although, a lot does depend on how you drive.

I couldn't get reverse, but could get all the others! Not much use when your facing a wall! New clutch sorted that out! No catastrophic failure and no sign of one either!

mine was screwed, it was actually the thrust bearing that started it all off. that went tits up which put more stress and heat onto the clutch which aged it very quickly, could also see heat stress on the pressure plate and fly wheel

Got the car back now......sorted.........servo was the problem! Great service from the garage though, short notice they were fully booked but could not have been more helpful.
