Octy vRS Rear ARB - how much difference does it make?

I was thinking about getting a rear ARB to tighten up the handling of my vRS as I noticed a bit of understeer on roundabouts back home. But I'm not sure whether I really need it here - they don't really have roundabouts for a start but they do have lots of twisties!

So how much difference does it make? How do the handling characteristics change?

Bit less body roll might be nice

By the way I can get one fitted for $300 here (120 quid)

Have a word with Gerry (Beretta) I fitted a neuspeed one sometime ago and he was rather impressed, as was I, good quality bit of kit and pretty easy to fit.

Phil "piv34uk" has one on the rear alone and said in does make a noticable improvement "through the twisties"

As above top quality piece of kit, and really does transform the rear end of the car, especially when fitted with Eibachs, and powerflex bushes on the front ARB. You lose all the roll on the twisty bits , and does not induce other problems.
Whilst I know and admit we all have our own preference when it comes to parts such as these and that there are many very good suppliers of this item, the Neuspeed 28mm adjustable one was my choice.
Mine was fitted by a true expert, who is a legend in his own lunchtime, very easy to fit, especially if you read the instructions first

No, all we did was the Neuspeed ARB with Eibachs all round, and Powerflex bushes on the front arb, and, as our learned techie confirms, it really transformed the handling of the car.

Re: Octy vRS Rear ARB - how much difference does it make?

i can vouch for this too.just a rear on mine and standard everything else, the vrs feels planted through the bends,
doddle to fit,i offered it up,cable tied it to the rear beam then clamped and bolted it up,saves trying to hold the arb and fit the clamps with one hand
mk4 golf one for 80 notes from a friend on cupranet(doesn't fit the cupraR well at all)

Re: Octy vRS Rear ARB - how much difference does it make?

I've got the Neuspeed Rear ARB and the 25mm Nuespeed Front ARB which and they make alot of difference.

I would possible say that the 25mm front is a little to thick for everyday use and have heard that the 23mm Front ARB from the R32 golf is a better compromise.

The front is an **** to fit though!!!!

Just a 22mm (i think) Eibach rear ARB, transforms the cars handling around corners even on standerd VRS suspension. Piece of cake to fit as well

but isn't it fun lying under the car with the subframe supported by a couple of jacks and you trying to squeeze underneath it to fit the arb.
took me and m0rk from cupranet 7 hours nearly to do my cordoba, anything that could snap did,the bushes wouldn't fit the car,the standard ones wouldn't go around the arb properly, swearing, was order of the day.
