Offset of 17" Spider rims?

Hi,

Im currently running the 16" Octavia Spider rims on my Fabia which have an Offset of ET42 stamped on the back of them.

Can anyone confirm that the 17" version are the same please???

These are the wheels in question

Are you 100% sure as i've heard people saying they are more like ET35-37 but I assumed the same as you that there the same wheels just 1 inch bigger

The 17s are also wider, hence the different offset. They do however just bolt straight onto the Fabia without any difficulty.

ive been looking for new alloys and i was told et35 for my octy

I didn't think Width had anything to do with a wheels offset???

To maintain the position of the centreline of the rim in relation to the hub, the offset needs to change with rim width - the offset should change by half the rim width change to maintain the centreline position, otherwise the effective centreline of the tyre will move in or out with respect to the hub and will mess with the steering geometry and scrub angles.
