Default Ola.. Need some help please

Olį... I`m sorry if there are many mistakes with the translation..

My name is Joćo and I am of Portugal.
I have an skoda Octavia of 99 1.9 TDI 110 cv.
I wanted to to ask for your help because you have much more experience and there aren`t many skoda octavia.

Question number 1 - I want to "lower" a litle bit the car with the main purpose of look but without compromising safety/confort.
Does anyone recommends this procedure?
Does 11 cm in the front makes it very near to the ground?
What do you think of Eibach pro Kit (30 mm)?

Question number 2 - I also have a doubt relatively to the gear knobb.
Mine is a little damaged and i don`t like very much of the original model. I was thinking in buying the gear knobb of the new octavia (5 speeds) or same of golf... (the rewind march is placed in a similar way).
Someone told me that these gear knobb have different "way to screw", many times in the same models. Is it true?

I had the VRS shocks and springs fitted to mine and that worked a treat, I know alot of furbie drivers like the Eibachs so give it a go!

Thanks for the help. I`m convinced in trying the Eibach springs, will "lower" about 30 mm. I have some fear that the front of the car to be a little close to the ground? I measured and i think that it will be with 11 cm of height? Those who tried to lower the octavia can give any personal opinions?
Thanks..
By the way does anyone can help with the second question?

Use Search at the top of the page and type Octavia gearknob then select Go. This will give you list of threads to read. I suggest you read the one titled Gear **** change which might be of help. The automatic swear-word filter will not allow the second half of the word gearknob to be used on its own - hence you will see lots **** instead!
