Unhappy Paint Problems.

Washing my car at the weekend (a 51 plate Octavia Elegance Estate) I was horrified to find the paint just below the rear window to start pealing off with my sponge. (see picture)

I hadn’t noticed any problems with paintwork there, or anywhere else, previously. I last washed the car the week before.

Unfortunately the car is out of its warranty, I hope this will be covered by the 10year body work guarantee?

I have been down to my dealer, they have sent a claim into Skoda, just hope I get good news…

Anyone else experienced this problem, or can you give me any ammunition if Skoda don’t play ball?

Alan

not had that problem with my car but noticed that where a lovely bird left it's mark on my car it has stripped the paint away round the edges of it. Hows that for quality paintwork!

Smile Update on Paint Problem

I was asked to take my car into the paintshop for an estimate. Told they had never seen this problem before! (why is it always me?)

Believe problem caused by the rear window glass not installed properly – ther should be a gap between the bottom of the glass and the start of the paint – for some reason there isn’t - glass has been touching paint and normal movement has made paint not want to stick anymore! (why did they stop using rubber around glass windows?).

Any way the good news is that the work will be done under warranty – car is now booked in early June…..
