| ive been looking for parts for my oct vrs and seen a nice carbon fibre engine cover, that then got me thinking about getting the cover sprayed the same colour as the car. just wondered if this is common and if anyone had any pics and rough prices? looked through other threads but couldnt find any info cheers |

| Re: painting engine cover!!!!!!! get a spare cover from a scrappy and give it a go yourself. The hardest bit will be cleaning and priming it so the paint sticks ok

| Re: painting engine cover!!!!!!! Is this the cam cover, or the plastic "obsfurcation cover"? In the first case, I'd suggest using a high temperature paint. In the second, you'll need a specialised plastic primer, and I'd recommend using an acrylic paint over it. On the what does it look like point, I think you need a nice person with a brightly coloured Octy and a copy of Photoshop! |

I had a friend of mine spray my engine cover,the piece in front of the inlet manifold,the battery cover,my expansion tank cover and scuttle panel as seen in this pic ![]() they've been like that a few years now and the paint has not lifted or tarnished in any way and imo it looks good |
