| Picked up my new Octy vRS today! Hi All, Well after a long, patient wait (since ordering it in October), I finally collected my brand new Octy vRS today. And I'm well happy with it Managed to clock up my first 40 miles driving it VERY carefully back from the dealership. First things I really noticed is that it is so smooth and quiet compared with my (in-yer-face) Rover. And the clutch is lovely and light. Finally a part of the club A Happy Wayne ![]()

| Thanks for the replies guys. I am happy, happy, happy! I am sure a trip to Jabba will be on the cards As for options, I went for the the Parking Sensors and Cruise Control (or and the metallic paint of course). I've been reading the owners manual tonight and there are some really clever little touches on these cars. Amazing how technology has moved on over the last few years. Got back in the 600 earlier, and it looked dated inside in comparison ![]()

| Oh, one quick question if any knows.... I've never bought a "new" car before and just realised (DOH!) that the dealer didn't give me the V5 log book. Does that come in the post later?

| I think that the dealer has to perform identity checks on behalf of the DVLA in order for the vehicle to be registered. He will then send documentation off to them declaing that he's sold the vehicle to you and they will send you a V5C with your details printed on. Give the dealer a ring tomorrow to check though. More info: http://www.dvla.gov.uk/welcome.htm Parking sensors. Nice! It's quite difficult seeing out the back of the Octy vRS because of the spoiler and the height of the boot. Another problem is when you park facing a kerb, be careful! the front bumper is so low that it often catches higher kerbstones. |

| I shouldn't have too many problems with the splitter. The Rover is much lower so I am well trained in avoiding pavements. In fact, in my overcautious parking last night I must have parked the front about 3 feet away from the kerb Have had a few guys at work looking at it today, everyone loves the interior Oh, and how clever is that little sun visor above the rear view mirror ![]()

| Well, I did a "special" trip down to see the parents in Cornwall at the weekend. A nice 500-mile round trip which has seen the 600-mile "run-in" period pass Well, impressions after a week of ownership (and 650 miles on the clock)... I love it The car is sooo smooth and refined compared with my Rover. And everything just works sooo well. I used the cruise control to do a steady 70mph down to Cornwall and back and got an average mpg of 39mpg, which with the climate on Auto 50% of the time, I was very pleased with. Also, I love those parking sensors I did find that the brakes could be squeeky at times, especially after I gave it a quick wash - but nothing to worry about. A quick 5 minute run and the seemed ok again. Off to pick up the missus now - and another drive in the car
