| Briskodian | Pothole clunk, now very firm ride Hi All This may be one of those posts through paranoia than anything else (fingers crossed)] I hit a major pot hole which gave my vrs a major clunk. since then i am convinced the ride quality has become very firm, with every bump, cats eye being fed through the wheel more than before. This could be paranoia, and the car is still relatively new to me, so may just be the ride is firmer than i am used to. There is also a very short rattle from front of the car when i close either of the front doors, again, this may have been there previous, and only paranoia made me notice it. this usual? any ideas if there is something wrong? what is the ususal ride quality of a vRS? Thanks all |

| Re: Pothole clunk, now very firm ride Funny that i was thinking the same about mine! not had mine long too but have noticed a rattle noise from the front and it sometimes clunks when pushing hard on b- roads. Its been in garage recently too for new arb they didn't mention the clunk noise.!! As for the ride mine is firm but i wouldn't say over firm just about right for me. Any ideas? |

| Re: Pothole clunk, now very firm ride The rattle is probably the rad. The bushes often ware. Try pushing at the base of the rad to tell. There should be a little movement but not much. |

| Re: Pothole clunk, now very firm ride its probably in your head tbh, i would have thought that if anything a large hit would make things softer if it damaged a damper.

| Re: Pothole clunk, now very firm ride Hit another, but small pot hole, it might reverse your way of thinking. My rad mounts went, but squeeked when i shut the doors. And shaking it replicated the noise.

| Re: Pothole clunk, now very firm ride Another vote here for the rad mounts theory. I got the ARB bushes changed on mine, and the noise was still there. The dealer subsequently told me that the rad mounts (2No.) were broken. If there is even 5mm or so movement, its probably the rad thats the source of the noise.
