Radio not working Just wondering if anyone has any advice to offer me. A while ago I removed original CD player and fitted an after market Kenwood head unit and CD player. Everything was great for a while until the Head unit mysteriously stopped working in that it lost all illumination and was stuck on one radio station with no volume control. I assumed that the head unit was knackered so I refitted the original radio and had music. Today I have decided to refit the original CD player. I rewired everything, went to try out and now the head unit won't work. I have checked the fuse and that is ok, I have tried removing the CD player to see if that was the cause but nothing. I can't tell yet if there is illumination getting to the head unit as it is to bright outside. Has the head unit just gone like that. Just wondering if anyone has any info on what may have happened. Thanks Guys Richy. ![]()

Re: Radio not working I have an old sony cd unit with changer that does similar things occasionally. To fix the problem the removable face has to split and the contact pads for the buttons cleaned and the problem goes away, not sure if this may be the same issue ![]()

Re: Radio not working Could be the problem with the Kenwood as it was one of the ones where the face would either remove or spin round to leave a blank plate. However i,m not sure about the original head unit as when I was putting back the CD changer there was no power on in car so I was surprised to find radio not working at all.

| Re: Radio not working Sounds like your new unit is faulty going by the way you have described it.

Re: Radio not working Last night I turned my standard VRS head unit and ejected the caddy... the whole lot went dead. No power, no back lights... not ejecting from the boot. Obviously... I'm thinking fuse, Checked all of the big ones and the ones suggested on the link - none of them have failed. Does this sound like its a fuse on the back of the head unit? anyone know where? Also if it is on the back are they standard fuses or those weird little ones? Any help appreciated... cheers
