| RARE? Octavia 4x4 1.8T Elegance Hatch in Ocean Green Hi All, Im really after some info on the above Octavia. Ive recently acquired a 2002 model and Im really interested to know how many were produced; particularly in Ocean Green. Also, does anyone know how long the production run was on the 4x4 hatch's? I read it was 11 months on a website but can anyone confirm this? Ive actually never seen one on the road hence the curiosity, Thanx in advance, Lee |

| There is one in my local village in that colour, and when I bought my 2002 dynamic blue 4X4 Estate my local dealer had a similar model for sale in Ocean Green.

| Interesting stuff guys;many thanks for the reply's so far. Im now on a mini mission however to find out about the model in general and specifically my state of engine tune as I have heard two stories of what my car outputs (I trust the member over the car sales man anyday btw!) and Im off to my favourite tuner tomorrow (Power Engineering) for a rolling road figure also. Cheers again guys, Lee |

| Its certainly not standard but the sales guy told me it was running a VRS engine map (done whilst owned by Skoda UK), this would make sense as the only other modification to the car is the VRS badge on the front grill. BUT, the car was also advertised just a month or so ago as being "jabba'd to 230bhp" which intrigues me. Theres no doubt that its faster than normal as a friend (Dr. Octavia) owns one and has driven mine - we both agree on this - however - if its running at 230bhp then Im dissapointed as I though there would be more to come (assuming it was running at VRS 180bhp levels). Still, todays dyno run should claify it for me. ![]() Cheers, Lee |

| DGW - many thanks for that info, thats great news. ScoobyChris - I have to personally disagree with that comment from a lot of experience with PE's dyno and Chris Todd (the main dyno operator that works there) hence I am travelling to them today for (what I believe) will be a realistic output. Will let you know what it manages to do. Im going to go crazy and take a guess... 190bhp/190lb/ft. We'll see though..... |

| Arghhhh Mike - ello matey - you traitor.... Hmmm, i'll stop there I guess. ![]() OK, got power figures from the car yesterday; 190bhp and 209lb/ft. As it was a fairly humid day, Chris at PE says its probably good for an additional 5bhp and 5lb/ft on a nice cool day but the above are the figures I walked away with yesterday and even more importantly the car got a clean bill of health. Im now considering what to do regarding engine mods.... Lee |

Engine mods a plenty for that motor mate, pick your budget and then go and have fun!!! A simple ecu map is a few hundred ish depending who you go to. but looking at your figures it might have already been done, (assuming it is the 150 engine). check the engine code and do a search on here for the 3 or 4 types, it will then tell you what you started with? Cheers Mike

| Although the hatch has been on the market here for the full four years, it's very rare on the continent too. I'm yet to meet another Dutch example - while I know that my dealer sold at least two similarly uprated cars after they sold me mine.

| Saw a 4x4 hatch in the colour you mention when at dealers month back. So far only seen five 4x4s inc. mums and the one mentioned above... a black one on a hill in yorkshire, blue one most mornings on A316, and the identicle one to my mums parked in tesco once... only one letter out on registration... he parked right next to us
