| re-map or not re-map hi i have a revo'd octy vrs and after driving it a good friend of mine went and got a vrs too .. last night we went to a local briskoda meet and had a play down a straight now performance wise there was nothing in it at all ..question is after thinking his could have been mapped previous to him owning it.. Is there an easy step by step using vag com to tell if a car has been mapped i have read somewhere you track the boost settings??

| Re: re-map or not re-map You could easily be running around 210 on a revo map, and he could be running 190 just on standard map with some super unleaded or something. The difference in power would be difficult to establish in an out and out race. He would need 180 and you be around 240 before any real differences started becoming apparent. I found that when I was running 220bhp, it wasn't easy pulling away from a standard remapped fabia, and that was with a 40hp difference (ish)

| Re: re-map or not re-map vagcom can log boost, it'll also log torque/rpm which you can use to calculate power and you can easily nice graphs using the logs and an excel spreadsheet http://www.ross-tech.net/vag-com/exa...0_Tutorial.xls altough considering the possible insurance implications and wasted money at a tuner, what type of sly, underhanded, sneaky ******* would sell a remapped car as standard... ![]()
