Default Removing seat (with airbag)

I'm going to remove my driver's seat tomorrow to replace the foam in the base. The seat has an airbag in so I'm just wondering what precautions I need to take with it?

Thanks

I would disconnect the battery 5 or 10 mins before you start and leave it off while you have the seat out.

Other than that just treat it gently when you take it out I think.

The octy elegance has seat airbags whereas the ambiente hasnt

Ive recently had my seats out and didnt disconnect the battery
but with hindsight and the possiblity of repercussions i would take
Stu`s advice and disconnect

Follow VRStus advice, don't rush, don't turn the ignition on with it removed as it will throw a fault code, when you turn the ignition on after refitting - keep clear.

so what skoda are saying is that in the vrs you will crash it going that fast that side airbags wont make any difference.
How nice of them lol

i wouldnt have thought the wrc would have had airbags in as they add weight, i guess that's why they didnt put it into the vRS

Thanks for all the advice, I left it 20 minutes or so and all went well. I now have sore fingers from replacing the foam in the seat base, though!
