One of the guys in the club just told me that I can get the part for SGD50 at one of our local workshops.... cool ... that would be 16pounds ... whew!!!

Avatar? I would love to have that ride... sadly, it's not too affordable this side of the planet

Follow up to what I previously posted...

I managed to get a switch from a local stockist

Part number 1U2959565L 01C

Problem is, this switch looks different from the one I have previously...
This one has goes like this

R (Top)
Heater (Middle)
L (Bottom)

while the one in my car (the one that broke) is

Heater (Top)
L+R (Middle)
R (Bottom)

I'm pretty sure that the controls would not match the pictures if I fit this new switch in...

Anybody has the correct part number for mine?

Plug it in and it should work just fine, the part has been superceeded many times as mentioned earlier.

It's gonna work alright?

Was afraid that after plugging it in, whenever I want to adjust the right mirror, it's actually turning on the heaters or something... hope you get what I mean

The door panel must be removed in order to get at the switch right?

The surround just pops out from behind the handle and you can get the switch out from that. No need to take the door trim off.

The face is different on the switch but the way its wired is exactly the same so dont panic.
