| since going though a big puddle last week my gear changes have become somewhat sticky (octavia vrs mk1). its not too bad still quite driveable, should i leave it hope it gets better or get it sorted? Also what tyres are people currently using, im on continental sport contact 2, cost around £150? |

| Gear changing problems are common for 5 sp boxes, somtimes its the bushes on the linkage. It may have got some crapp on it. As for tyres iam on Toyo T1Rs cost about 85-110 depending where you go but i believe they are a lot stickier than the conti but and dont think they last as long |

| I had that just before I sold mine. Try giving the it a spray with grease around the gear change shaft that goes into the gearbox.

| If you have done over 50k miles a gearbox oil change wouldn't hurt things either and can make the changes a lot smoother too ![]()
