| What's missing? I have just got round to checking why the rear washer on my octavia hatch doesn't work and have found by lifting up the arm under neath there is a small plastic 90deg bend where the water comes out, which it does OK but I am sure ther must be some thing else attached to it to get the water up and on to the back window, at the moment it it sprays up the inside of the wiper arm and virtually none of it gets to the window, could any one just check theirs and let me know what I am missing in the way of parts. Thanks |

| Octavia's are fitted with two types of rear wiper, the standard type and the aero type. Mine has the standard wiper and has a hose that runs up the arm and connects to a block at the end of the arm. The block has two sprays in it and works very well. Cheers Lee

Sounds like that is what I am missing and it would make sense, the hose I can do, the block though I will have to get. Thanks Lee

| Briskodian | Have you checked your boot? I have the estate, so the setup is different, with the jet emerging from next to the high level brake light. I lost pressure to the rear jet, and the cause was a loose hose in the rear panel, the one with the CD changer in it! Due to the design, the water fills up and soaks the cd changer/wiring etc. Might be worth checking if the pressure has dropped (which might cause water distribution to be affected too) I only noticed becuase I managed to overflow the well under the changer and the boot got wet. If I'd not been pumping loads of water to the rear jet I'd have never found it until CD changer stopped working. |

| I have one of the older rear wipers, I just had a look a if you lift up the wiper arm theres a pipe running from the place where the arm is pivoted to the twin jet. I tried to lift the cap over the point that holds the wiper onto the window to see was it goes into but I didn't want to force it.

| The nozzle is right at the bottom of the arem where the wiper pivots , it comes right up through the middle of it so i am pretty certain that the pipe and the jet is missing so maybe the wiper arm has been changed at some point, for a car with 33,000 on the clock the blade is very clean! so I'll have a look next time I go to the dealers and if needed I'll order one up. Thanks |

. So I told them they would be replacing it under warranty, and spoke to Skoda customer service to inform them that if there was ever a problem in the future with the connectors (ie the end attached to the car) due to corrosion that they would be picking up the tab. It has leaked at least twice more since it was originally fixed. There will be trouble if it happens again post warranty and they refuse to sort it ![]()

| Re: What's missing? Pretty common that CD changer issue. Also on the hatch and estate there is a multi plug not far from where the pipe comes off. The wiring goes back to the tailgate from there. Usually faults with the tailgate and CDL can be traced to water/corrosion in the plug. |

| Re: What's missing? Any reason why a more sturdy clip couldn't be used in that area, thus preventing the pipe coming off with it's no doubt vastly more expensive possible side-effects like plug corrosion (cheap plugs but labour) or even cd changer failure? Seems like this is a common flaw for the Fabia as well with regards the pipe coming off?
