Wheels. . . What's involved?

Thinking about changing my wheels in the near future and want to go for something out of the mainstream eg. Mercedes or Porsche wheels.

What exactly would be invloved with this? Hub changes, fitments, pcd's, offsets, widths, sizes, arches, will they or wont they go straight on etc etc etc.

For an Octy VRS btw.

Any help at all is much appreciated.

Re: Wheels. . . What's involved?

Standad the octy VRS is 5x100 PCD where as Porsche are 5x130 PCD and Merc are 5x112 PCD

You can get PCD adapters off the shelf to convert your car to enable you to fit both Merc or Porsche wheel. These come in a number of different widths from normaly 20mm to 40mm.

The normal offset for the octy is 35mm to 40mm. Porsche wheels are mostly a high offset from 51mm to 65mm so if you got a set of 60mm offset Porsche wheels you could use a set of 25mm adapters to bring the offset back to 35mm.

One work of warning with the adapters dont buy the cheaper steel ones as they are quite heavy and will wear out your wheel bearings. Always get either the H&R or FK alloy adapters.
