Re: where do you jack with trolley jack?

Always done it in my mates garage on the sills with some decent jacks, just pop the axle stands inwards slightly, youll see where. Never rested it on them though, just there for safety.

Re: where do you jack with trolley jack?

dont fancy the sills as looks like theyll bend and crack, i usually use a bolt just behind back of wheel on front but then no space for stands anywhere?

If you have a low saddle jack then under the chassis rail is best and then put the axle stand where the rear wishbone bolt is.

Re: where do you jack with trolley jack?

Have done this numerous times now with garage quality jacks and have had no issues, perhaps you are using the small jacks with the piddly seats.

Yea that was my prob .... not enough clearance for the sill to sit in the little gaps.

Re: where do you jack with trolley jack?

I use the sills to lift my car and I have a cheap 2tonne trolly jack from Halfords, I found the sills bent the minute I tried to lift the car and found that putting a piece of softwood between the jack and the sill stops the sills from giving way works a charm but you will hear alot of cracking noises from the wood which can be a little nerve racking.
