Where is the throttle body????

Hello, sounds stupid but on the photos regarding cleaning the throttle body on various links etc they all show a Vr6, ive followed the air intake( large tube) and it comes to a circular silver alloy tube with a silver spring clip round it, on the photosit looks completely different, if i pull that tube out is the butterfly opening under it??? Just want to make sure i know what im doin, i know that im not supposed to disconnect any electrics to stop it needing being re-aligned, wots that all about? I know i need to get a vag com doo da from ebay, is it right can you get away with keeping the electrics attached, and still do a full removal clean with carb cleaner and replace the gasket paper or would it be a lot easier to simply carefully clean the interior via the butterfly opening. I did clean the maf and sprayed carb cleaner into the large rubber throttle air tube, and its defo improved it,. mpg is near on back to norm, and it feels really quick again, a lot QUICKER! I sprayed this untill not far off stalling it abt 5 times, it has definitely near on returned it too norm, but it still idles slighty lumpily. Ive replaced all the spark plugs, bought one coil pack and went thru all the cylinders, unplugged the maf ( ran slower, not as lumpy but still there!), the maf plugged seemed to improve over all running. I think the throttle body is dirty and needs further cleaning, any help or photos would be brilliant, i changed my air filter to a very tight wire mesh k&n style induction kit, im really chuffed with it but is it possibly lettin in more crap and sticking to throttle body? Agan any help would be brilliant. Cheers Vin.

Re: Where is the throttle body????

TB is on the left hand side of the inlet manifold, its got a boost pipe on it secured by a big jubilee clip.
