| Woo! Kiloton! Hey everyone, I made the 100,000 mark today. I had a feeling last week it would roll around as I left work today, and sure enough, it did. Perhaps I should vary my route to work every day... Anyway, fortunately I managed to stop somewhere and take a quick snap. So who else is in the 6 digit club? Here's to 200,000 (and hoping the clutch and gearbox last that long...). J PS: I can't take any credit really. It's easy to hit 100,000 when you buy a car with 94k miles on it! |

| Sorry to nitpick but a kiloton is a thousand tons, a figure that, even with skoda reliability I don't think a car could stretch to!!!

| TKW: Indeed. A Ton, as in "A ton plus", or "the magic double ton". I know it's strictly a speed, not a distance, but it seemed more concise than "One-hundred-thousand miles!" and more interesting than "100,000 miles!" (is it me or do the zeros get all fuzzy and jump about the place together...). No, not even on a weekly shop could I get the car up to 1000 tons (or 907 tonnes )A thought for the day. Given today's ludicrous fuel prices (94p/litre), and an average consumption of 56 mpg (my actual average - the dash display is 10% over), to hit the double-kilo-ton would take: * 1786 gallons of diesel * That's about 8117 litres * Which would cost £7630! (about £2000 more than the car cost) * It'd take me just under four years at my current rate. * And it'd probably go back to the garage for just four services. Crazy. J |
