| Briskodian | Your Experience Octavia VRS Hi, interested in buying an Octavia but I'd like your views and experiences please! In particular, how durable are they? what are the running costs like (servicing costs especially)? how many niggly problems do they suffer? Any particular quirks? Thoughts gratefully appreciated. I currently drive a 155k 1994 BMW 525i (an amazingly durable vehicle) but it would be the replace my wife's 1998 Ford Escort (not such a durable car!!!) |

| Re: Your Experience Octavia VRS Well i've had my vRS since Sept '03,so a '53 reg car. I had it re-mapped at 10K miles and it is now showing 78K on the clock. It has a big FMIC,Full sports exhaust system,TIP,CAI and has a LPG conversion aswell. It hasn't put a foot wrong and is used everyday regardless. I would recommend one to anyone. I will get another one when the time comes without fail.

| Re: Your Experience Octavia VRS Seconded what Alex has said. I'm on my second one and neither has given me a days problem - not even a bulb has popped..... For the money they are pretty cheap to run, 32 - 34'ish mpg, relatively cheap servicing even from Skoda and couple that with the long life service option means everything considered - in my opinion they are a bit of a bargain. Also no real problems to report re: durability as a number of members on here have relatively high(er) mileage ones with no real problems. I am obviously biased but get one would be my advice.... |
