| Hi all, Thinking about a New Octavia diesel 4x4, but notice that bigger alloys don't seem to be on the option list, despite Skoda literature and 4x4 microsite having lots of pictures of 4x4 with 17" 'Pegasus' alloys. I guess these must be dealer option, anyone know what the cost of these and of 16" wheels would be on a new car? Second question, anyone who drives/has driven 4x4 on alloys bigger than the standard 15" like to comment on impact on ride and handling? Cheers |

| Re: 16" or 17" wheels on 4x4: ride and price? I'll answer the ride and handling question if you buy them for me!!! To be honest have found the delights of bouncing up kerbs without a care in the world again thanks to the standard 15's (well it is a 4x4 so why should mums on the school run have all the fun??) ![]() |

| Re: 16" or 17" wheels on 4x4: ride and price? Hi, when I looked at the upgrade the dealer wouldn`t allow me the upgrade. I am told it is the same stud pattern as the rest of the VAG group, so I am possibly looking at 17" A3 or golf wheels, there is a set of 16" on ebay at present - cn`t give you the link as work has blocked access to ebay. |

| Re: 16" or 17" wheels on 4x4: ride and price? Put a deposit on a used 4x4 last Friday which had 5 spoke 16" wheels - not sure on the model but they're in the accessories catalague. Dealer reckoned they added £500 to the new OTR price. Compared with my Octy I running on 17" wheels, the ride was smooth - I was purposely hitting man hole covers and patchwork to check out the ride. Cornering was pretty impressive even with the jacked up suspension.
