| 17in Zeniths prone to mishaping? Reason I ask is I dropped the offside into the worlds biggest pot hole - blowing the front tyre in the process and triggering the TPM. Got the tyre changed no problem but the TPM has tripped a couple of times since resetting. My understanding was that the TPM measures the rolling circumference (could be wrong on this) - so was concerned I've damaged the alloy. Thoughts? |

| Briskodian | Re: 17in Zeniths prone to mishaping? Not wanting to be part of the 'where there is blame there is a claim' brigade have you though about claiming off the council for the damage. I had a similar incident in my Mk1 VRS and managed to get them to pay for a new wheel and tyre (they did reduce the amount for the tyre by 20% due to wear-had done 2000miles on the it). All I did was send a letter detailing date and location of hole and it all got sorted effortlessly. Worth a try and then can get piece of mind that you have a new wheel. I was always told that you should replace alloys after a significant impact as there can be unseen cracks/damage. Do not know how true this is but think I would always go on the side of caution (would not want a wheel disintegrating on me at 70mph on a motorway or 60mph on an A road with trees at the side!!!!). |
