2.0 tdi Manual/DSG VED band

Just a quick question, what are the VED bands for the Manual and DSG?

I have a DSG, whats a VED band , I might get it from the manual

I presume it's Vehicle Excise Duty, i.e Road Tax.
Don't know what the bands are of the top of my head though i'm afraid.

Manual is band D, while the DSG just creeps over the (wrong side) of the line into band E.

My Ambiente is £135 for the year, whatever band that is.

My June '06 Elegance 2.0tdi DSG has an official rating (on my V5) of 165gm/km putting it in band D - currently at £135 per year.

According to Skoda all 2.0TDi DSGs should be band E - however, at the bottom of the page there is the following statement:

"The weight of a vehicle will influence the level of CO2 emitted.
As a result, vehicles with higher levels of specification may emit higher levels of CO2. Once a car has been built it will be given its own specific CO2 emission on which the Vehicle Excise Duty will be charged."

So, those with Band D should think themselves lucky, and those with L&K models (more toys and hence more weight) should remember it's no worse than Skoda predicted, yet you get the benefit of more toys, even if you pay a few more pounds a year for the privilege

My 2.0TDI manual has an official CO2 rating of 149g/Km, that makes mine only just a Band C.

Except that the registration document for our April '06 L&K 2.0TDi with lots of goodies shows the emissions as 165 g/km - which (just!) gets it into Band D and £135/yr. I can't believe cars are individually rated, so presumably all L&Ks are band D - unless they've changed the spec at some time so it's gone up or down a Band. Whetever, I'm pretty happy - also with the consumption at 41 mpg, involving some pretty hard driving

My estate is 165 band D, which was a pleasant surprise.

Also getting 55 mpg + "extra urban" and 37 mpg across Bristol during "rush" hour, so quite pleased. Presumably the more mpg the less polution (per mile).
