235/45/17 Tyres

Does anyone know if 235/45/17 tyres will fit on the vRS wheels

I know the ones on it at the mo are 225/45/17 so was wondering if the extra 10mm will fit as this would improve the grip quite abit (extra 20mm of rubber on tarmac = 2mph faster round bends )

Seriously i can get 4 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 for the equiv of £300 fitted but before i do wanna make sure they fit

Cheers

Carl

I don't think you can, not by looking at this tyre/rim calculator anyway (just over half way down the page).

Maximum tyres on your rims are what you have already!

An extra couple of mph, but maybe a couple less mpg, so its not all bad news!

Now; if you had gone for the 18s you can go up to 235/35 from 225/40.

Sorry, Mater, but I'm deadly serious.

You ought to be able to the B14s cheaper in Germany as they are made there, see brock car fashion - top-felgen für ihr auto The B14s in 18" are only 219 Euro each list price from their website (about £148, as opposed to £180 from Skoda UK).

Start saving?

Re: 235/45/17 Tyres

So am i SWMBO has expensive tatse in shoes and clothes

it took me about 6 months to get her to agree to a new car then a further 2 weeks for maxidot.

Theres no way i can add £600 to my ever growing list of things to do to the car (im already on just over £3k)

Unfortunately SWMBO really does wear the trousers in my house
