| Briskodian | Advice on a fault please. Hi, Can anyone give advice on a fault on my 05 1.9TDi PD. I have the management light on and the fault codes relate to the Manifold Intake Flap not functioning. From what I have managed to find out this is usually open then closes briefly when the engine is switched off as an anti shudder or something. Does anyone know if this is right and if so will I be ok to carrying on driving it. I am reluctant to just replace it as they cost over £260. Any advice from you experienced Briskoda members gratefully appreciated. |

| Briskodian | Re: Advice on a fault please. Problem solved without having to replace the Flap Assy. I learnt that Fuse 8 under the bonnet usually blows when there are problems with the flap. So as I had already cleaned the flap assy I thought I may as well change the fuse and try it. Fortunately it worked and has remained working after a few stop starts, Although I think I will keep a supply of 10A fuses to hand just in case, cheaper than a new assy. |

| Re: Advice on a fault please. Odd i've only heard of that on the 2.0. If the fuse blows the t/b is jammed and will need to be replaced at some point. |

| Briskodian | Re: Advice on a fault please. As reqested Taxi here are some pics. The first shows the location of the Intake flap with an orange ring round it. The second shows inside the flap assembly. Sorry about the poor quality pic but did not want to remove from the car again. The assembly is held on with 3 allen headed screws I have marked 2 but the 3rd is not visible/ hard to access. It is on the left hand side opposite the the other one. After removing I just gave it a good clean inside here with carb cleaner, especially around where the flap pivots. The last photo shows the location of fuse 8 in the fuse box. Hope this helps others, mine is still ok after a couple of days use. Apologies if the photos have not worked out very well this is the first time I have posted pics. |
