Advice needed on Spec and accessories

Hi All

Was planning on holding out for the new vRS Octavia, but at the moment very tempted to go for the 2.0 TDI.

Sorry if this has been covered before but did search and could not find information I was looking for.

(1) In Ireland, dash and door inserts on elegance models are of carbon fibre - is this the same with UK cars, or are they all the silvered-alloy look. I prefer the look for the silver finish but this does not seem to be an option on elegance models.
(2) Has anybody seen an Octavia fitted with the Optical Styling Kit (OSK) in the flesh, and if yes does it look as good as the pictures in the brochure make it look.
(3) Anyone have any idea on the pricing of the OSK either in Ireland or the UK - Have requested this information from Skoda Ireland but so far not received it.
(4) Are the integrated entry area light on the wing mirrors standard on the UK models, or do they come as optional features. The Irish spec makes no reference to these either as standard or options, even tho the brochure does indicate them.
(5) Irish dealers seem to only offer the DSG gearbox on the 1.9 TDI, whereas it is offered on the 2.0 TDI in the UK. Anyone know if this option should be available in Ireland in the future.

Thanks in advance for any and all help on these subjects

Bryan

Hi Bryan,

I'm no expert by any means, but I might be able to answer a couple of these from a UK perspective

In the UK you get the silvered alloy look on the Ambiente, and the Elegance has a darker metallic look - I wouldn't say it was carbon fibre lookalike, but I think it's probably the same as you're describing. You don't get the option to have the silver trim on the Elegance.

Again, the entry area lights are standard on the Elegance only IIRC. I don't think they're even an option on the other models.

I think the 1.9 was offered with the DSG before the 2.0 in the UK, so there must be hope that Ireland will do the same...?

Hope that helps

Cheers Patrick Ireland has so many things as options that come as standard in the UK cars, and trying to get info from the dealers . so trying to figure just how much the car l want is likely to cost me in total is a bit of a nightmare
wish l had a local dealer, but nearest 1 to me is almost 1.5hrs drive
