I don't know which tyres to buy: 205/50/17 or 225/45/17

Please help

Re: Advice

Both are "regular" fitment for that size wheel on an octavia. 225 will have more tread on the ground, so in theory should be a bit grippier than the same tyre in 205/50.

They came with the sports suspension as a package
not shaw it the 1.9 upgrade would have lesser tyres.

Re: Advice

Just had a look on Skoda "UK" no mention of what tyres would be fitted to 17" alloys.
Not sure if Euro spec is differant.

Re: Advice

Standard Skoda fit on all 17" alloys is 225/45 R17.

It's the same on the vRS, Superb Elegance and new L+K, so I guess this is what Skoda would recommend. The only difference might be speed rating, as the vRS has a higher top speed than the others.

I'm guessing you would need V-rated tyres, as this goes up to 149mph. H-rated tyres only go up to 130mph.
