Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part Nş

I've discovered part number to change the rubber only on my Aero wipers. Went to dealer and price left me suprised: 10€ for a pair + VAT ( it would be like 6£ + VAT for a pair). The part number is:
1KO 955 429
Now I'm trying to trace the part number for wiper rubber (Aero as well) for the tail wiper. Does anybody have it?

When I went to dealer and asked for rubbers only they said they don't have such a thing, only complete wipers. Then I asked to check by a part number, and voila, there it was.
Hope this helps others. It was 1 min to change each. They come a bit longer and with new caps. Very cheap.

They are 65 cm (would be 26" I guess).
As long as I understood, they are good for all VAG range (stamp on the tag has VW, Seat, Skoda and Audi mark), plus Ford and Opel. Maybe some other too.

Re: Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part Nş

I'm just not sure if it's:
1KO 955 429
or
1K0 955 429
I mean if in the third position is digit zero or letter "O", but looking at the tag I guess it's digit zero.

Re: Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part Nş

Dealer says 1k0955429 and 1k0955429B don't exist, but A/C do.

I've ordered a pair of the A parts so hopefully they will cut down to size as they are non returnable due to being a special order.

Will A and C be right for a RHD pair. Do you need one of each length or can you cut one to do the shorter blade?

Well, the only difference between LHD and RHD is the shape of the cap. To take off the old rubber you have to take off the cap first. Then just pull off the rubber. Put the old rubber by the new one and cut it the same size. Rubber has no metal rails like standard wipers do. So, just cut it with scisors or knife.
Now the difference between the caps is like this. Look carefuly to caps on each side of your aero wiper and you'll see they have little wing, but the wing is not in the middle. That's the difference. To change the rubber you have to take off the cap on the top and not on the bottom, as the bottom one is not supposed to get off.
When I got my rubbers they were for RHD and my car is LHD. Rubbers come with two caps each, but both caps are the same and both for the top of the wiper. You get those caps because when you take off old ones they usualy break inside so don't fit back. As my new ones were for RHD I took old ones off carefuly and they didn't break. At the time I've ordered mine I didn't know about A, B, and C, so they sold me RHD. I put the old caps back and everything is OK.
One more thing:
After yoy take the cap off, you'll see one metal pin stucked into rubber. Just put the screwdriver below it and pull it out of the old rubber, but only 1-2mm. When you put the new rubber in, press the pin back in. It servers for rubber not to move.
Here is the link how to do it. It's in spanish but photos are more then enough:

Re: Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part Nş

So, in theory if, like me, you got new wipers a while back and have the old ones lying around, you could get new rubbers and caps, fit them to the old "complete" aeros at leisure, and then just swap them onto the car when appropriate. Then keep the ones you just took off and some time later fit new rubbers to them, and so on till you get rid of the car!

Yes, that's the idea.
This is my first car with Aero Wipers. On my previous cars I was always changing the rubbers only like 3-4 times and then had to change the whole wiper because to change the rubber in standard wiper you have to bend the metal parts so wiper wouldn't accept it many times. Now, with Aero Wipers seems to me that you can change the rubber as many times as you want untill you change the caps too.

By the way, you don't have to have the spare pair to change the rubber. I didn't have the spares. Just took them off, brought them into the house, changed the rubber and put them back. Whole operation - 15 minutes.

For the back wiper the part number for the blade is 7E0 955 425 and costs around 8 euro

What is involved in removing the caps? Do they just clip on and pull off?

Yes, I pulled them off with screwdriver, but not putting the screwdriver under them, fearing to break them (as I didn't have LHD spare ones I needed). If you have new caps, just pull old ones off, the way you want. You dont need to care if they break.

Good information!
I need to buy some new fronts myself as the current ones leaves streaks due to damage from parking under some trees at work this summer that left blobs of hard resin on the car.

Re: Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part Nş

Did anyone try this with a RHD car?

Are the part numbers correct? How much were they from the dealer?

More importantly, is it easy? Did you break the caps?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am going to have to replace my wipers shortly and this seems a good way of doing it.

Tried it and still have them in the boot waiting for the new ones to expire.

Only some of those part numbers are correct, but you basically need the part number for the seat wiper refills for the altea.

Nope the dealer looked at this page and tried all combos and some just don't exist on the skoda/seat database they said.

Re: Aero Wipers Rubber only - Here's part Nş

I contacted my local Skoda dealer in York to order the replacement blades and he couldn't find the part numbers supplied. He did a bit more digging on another system and found the parts and they were listed as "brand restricted" so as a Skoda dealer he was unable to order them.

The VW garage 2 minutes down the road got them in next day for me though... don't you just love internal VAG politics!
