aerowiper refills revisited

This morning I printed the part numbers off the old thread and went down to my nearby VW dealer.

He told me such spares do not exist, so I gave him the print out.

"Where did you get these numbers?" he asked with a puzzled frown.

I told him.

"Well I'll probably have to order them if we can", he said.

5 minutes later he wanders back in with all three wipers - £17 the lot incl VAT.

"Last ones there", he said, "I'll have to restock them."

"Don't worry", I said, "they probably don't exist".

I'm still waiting for ny local SEAT dealer (no Skoda garage near me) to ring to tell me the parts we tracked down on EKTA have arrived!

They don't like to sell refills. The rather "never heard abot them" so you purchase full set, very expensive. That's why we're all here, to help each other save some cash by exchanging part numbers.

Yep it was a bit of a search to find them but it's a good buy, but i do wonder if normal refills will fit.

I think that you will only be able to refill the blades a finite number of times before they lose their spring, but how many times this is I don't know.

erm, sorry to sound thick, but what are we talking about here?? Tried doing a search on both 'aerowiper' & 'refill' and came back with nothing but judging from the threads above there's something here that might save money.

If only I knew what it was!
