| Briskodian | Hello everybody! Currently thinking of getting myself a petrol vrs and have been browsing this forum for a while now. One thing I haven't seen being discussed is whether the Octavia has some kind of mechanism for detecting polluted exterior air and not sucking it into the cabin. Let me explain a bit more. Currently I drive an old Leon FR and if I am travelling next to a truck in a traffic jam for example, I get the all the nasty diesel smoke in the car . My nose is a bit sensitive so I get that with some diesel cars that floor it also. Now, I used a BMW for a while and this didn't happen. The car would automatically detect this and set the climate control to recirculation until the outside air was OK again. In any event, no diesel smoke smell in the car with the beemer. I know that Volvo have a similair system, but the question is, does the Skoda Octavia?Cheers, David |

| Re: Air quality? Not heard of it to be honest. There is a system where it will put the recirc on when you select reverse gear.

| Fabian | Re: Air quality? And you can get a pollen filter with added charcoal that filters and deodourizes all the air coming into the cabin. |

| Re: Air quality? AFAIK you have to detect it yourself and press the recirculation button! Perhaps the BM just had a very efficient filtering system? |
