Re: Airbag warning light.

Airbag warning light just come on again in my Fabia Comfort, so off to dealers to get it looked at for the second time!

1st time the sensor had worked loose so not actually an airbag failure as such - I blame the crap roads (more like crators ) of Sheffield I drive on probably shaken it loose again!

Think I'll buy a tank for my commute!

Mine is back for the 9th in two months, fault is with factory now and they say it could be 1 day or 1 month.

They also say 4 other cars have this fault, anyone else here can beat 9 times???

Re: Airbag warning light.

My airbag light came on 20 mins after buying the car.

All sorted now and no problems since (touch wood).

There is a recall for airbag faults IIRC, I think it relates to the wiring.

Re: Airbag warning light.

There is some service info on faults relating to side airbags. Dont worry they dont suddenly go off or anything. It may or may not be related to your car but worth getting them to check.

Re: Airbag warning light.

I triggered my airbag light by removing the glovebox while fitting my phone car kit. The airbag isolation switch is in the glovebox and if you diconnect this switch the light comes on (and stays on). My dealer reset it in 2 minutes.

Oh yes they can !!

Ask my son he was doing 25mph and it just went off (I am glad I was not driving I think I would have **** myself.

And to top it off the dealer wanted nearly £500 to replace it, and the car was only a month old !!

Re: Airbag warning light.

Well ok they can, but they wont go off on the Octavia with this known of fault,

Was just trying to convey the fact that there is no need to panic.

Re: Airbag warning light.

If an airbag warning light is on will the airbag still deploy in an accident?

Re: Airbag warning light.

Off road this time for 2 weeks and don’t expect reply from factory for another 3.
Total time off road is now 30 days. Should Skoda replace car as it is only 6 months old?
