| Briskodian | Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs Despite mileage just coming upto 5000, the Alcantara material at the front of the VRs seats is starting to become a little dirty. They were treated with stain repellent since new, but just seems to be that these seats are susceptible to picking up dirt.. I know with the Fabia there was a group buy on a leather retrofit. Has anyone considered the possibility of "Retrofitting" the front bit of the Octy II VRs seats with some nice air leather etc..? |

| Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs Couldn't you just apply a leather/suede colour wash in black say? Then it wouldn't show up the dirt so much I know you would lose the two-tone effect - but cheaper than leather retrim

If you apply it properly it doesn't come out. Most leather is dyed in some way, even the steering wheel leather - and that doesn't come off on your hands!

| Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs Still would'nt want to be the first to try it!. Personally I would try a decent suede cleaner before trying anything as extreme as using a dye.

| Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs The best thing to do is not get them dirty in the first place. I would never get into my car with dirty clothes on, same as with my MK1 vRS.

| Briskodian | Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs I never get into the car dirty either. The design of the fabric means that its very easy for it to become dirty. Even dark stain Jeans manage to rub off onto it. Its also one of those fabrics which will show signs of wear very quickly. |

| Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs It's one reason why I didnt opt for the Leather/Alcantara option on the L&K. I am a service engineer and I could see the alcantara parts of the seats going a tad shiny over time ![]()

| Briskodian | Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs I don´t no what that is. No spec sheet yet. Option Octavia: Corner foglight, Hill hold control, Trinax instead of Nexus ( sd slot for maps, 40 gb hdd, dvd for movies). Standard springs for 4x4. Short antenna on Octavia. 1.8 T FSI replace 2,0 FSI on standard Octavia. Scout and 4x4 will have 2.0 FSI. I guess VRS and Scout will have corner foglight as standard.

| Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs There is already hill hold on the 07 L&K. Will the Octavia get this all singing all dancing Sat nav? Skoda seem to be at the back of the queue for things such as this, the DVD Nexus has been out for ages on the VW's and not on the Skoda. Will this make up for it? If so when will they be on ebay for a retrofit? ![]()

... or simply a more hard wearing coefficient for a friction surface (not much magic there, more like "common sense" for a car seat fabric )

| Re: Alcantara seat material Octy II VRs I have no idea, never heard of this Amaretta stuff. I presume it's some sort of DuPont/3M enhanced stuff to resist wear, tear and stains. Or maybe it really is magic ![]()
