Christmas has come early!

I had an interesting phone call from the dealer this morning. They confirmed that my new Race Blue is down for build week 28, which meant delivery for early August.

However, they mentioned that a black one had just come over and was at the docks in Grimsby. It has all the extras i ordered on the blue one, but as it was black and not blue they offered me £500 compensation to have this one instead

So i have the car 5 weeks earlier than expected and a monkey in the back pocket all for accepting a colour change!

The things dealers will do to meet their sales figures....

Will hopefully pick it up on Mon or Tue next week so will post pics ASAP

Re: Christmas has come early!

To be honest blue is a bit common anyway and with black you can colour code your grill surround and it looks mean!

Re: Christmas has come early!

As soon as i was offered black, i looked at the pics of both of your cars. Ironic that both of you have posted straight away!

Once i have got used to the car, one of the first things to do would be to get the grill done (after the air-con off button of course). I think yours looks smart Jonno!

Let me know your address so i can send it

Re: Christmas has come early!

So, what is going to happen to the one you originally ordered? Cancel the order, or will that suddenly appear on the Grimsby dockside, ready to tempt someone else who is waiting for theirs to be built?

Re: Christmas has come early!

Well i have now owned the car for over a week, an it is quite frankly the best car i have ever owned.

The cabin experience, bodywork design and engine performance are spot on.

The only niggles are that the radio reception is not quite as good as the Ford unit i had previous (but the CD audio quality is perfect), slight trim rattles (hey its not a Bentley after all lol) and that my *** is too fat for the VRS seats lol (hence the now enforced diet)

Anyway as many ppl will say this thread is useless without pics, here are a few i managed to take of the car when it has been clean

Re: Christmas has come early!

Wait a sec. I suppose the wipers are in the service position, but mine (MY06) never does anything with the back wiper, how come yours is on the middle of the rear screen?

Re: Christmas has come early!

Looks good - nice and shiny - for the time being...

Ideas;

Non-Amber Indicator Bulbs - to be rid of the Eggy effect
Colour Coded Rad. Grille
