| We recently bought a vRS from our local dealers, and wanted the cruse control retro fitting. At the time I noticed the Control stalk on display in the Parts cabinate with £150 on it "that can't be right" said I "as it's listed in the accessory catalog at £60". "your right" said service manager "I will get it re labled". Having looked in the forums I saw that the average fitted price was £150, so thought I had been a bit of a plonker (obviously the fitted price on the label)! Checked with other near by dealers who all quoted me £150. Went down today to get it fitted and again looked in the cabinet to see the Octy II stak now labeled at...... wait for it............ £225!!!!!! "wait a minute" says I "whats that price?". "fitted price inc vat" says service manager "hang on" says I "Briskoda site shows that about £150 fitted is the average, and your local competitors are doing it cheaper!" "Oh ok £150 it is." I think he knew he had been sussed! Just goes to show that you have to be informed these days! Some poor sod could have paid the £225, now that's some mark up! Despite being a long standing customer of Skoda & that dealer, I have began to wonder about some of the aftersales prices. I know everything seems to go up but £75 in a matter of weeks!! Guess I will have to phone our 3 nearest dealers every time I want some thing, can no longer expect the good deals that I used to get. Strange how it sees to coincide with them apointing a new service manger, or am a skeptical? Can't wait to see what they are going to charge me for fitting the fire extinguisher bracket to the drivers seat base!!! |

| Re: Dealer Prices!!! Similar experience (but not so much of a markup) Suzuki keyring, I could see it was $4.99 in the catalogue he looked in to order it, he tries to charge me $6.99 plus sales tax (about $7.50 total). Told him I can read upside down, will pay $4.99+tax as per MRSP, or I'll leave it thank you very much. Cheeky twunts!

| Re: Dealer Prices!!! Have had several Zuks in the past, (SJ's Jimnys Vitaras & Grand Vitaras and my much missed Swift GTi) and our dealer was a small local one. Very good, reasonable prices and willing to discount. Then they became a massive multi-franchised lot! Awful service, poor customer care and not a chance of a discount & all the best staff left! ![]() Last edited by uncle bulgaria; 06-06-2006 at 12:06. |
