Diamondbrite'd the octy today

also read this on other forums too so thought it sounded reasonable to remove the wax. Did think about clay barring but since its only a week old thought it didn't need it. Hopefully not caused any problems using the fairy though....

Spent 3 hours today treating the octy to a the diamonbrite session. First I rinsed throughly then cleaned with fairy liquid (recommendation off here) to remove the existing delears wax, microfibred dry then did stage 1 waited 15 mins followed by stage 2, waited another 30 mins and then buffed. Overall I'm really pleased with the results - it was a bargain off ebay compared with the dealers price too

Plus I already have the diamonbrite car shampoo and conditioner off my furby to keep up the shine. Just wish I'd known about the kits going on ebay before I paid the 199

for the furby when I got it...

Also picked up a can of the interior protection for dirt cheap and was a doodle to apply.

What's the deal when an ebay seller says "Not Autoglym"?

Fancying some of this. Paintwork already getting miscoloured through bird poop.

Looks good. Who told you to use Fairy Liquid though?

I wouldn't go near a car with it, and use some Meg's Paint Cleaner instead, or similar.

Because this is what happens when people use it all the time. I'm sure you can spot the difference

It's for cleaning dishes, not cars. It's very good for taking grease off dishes isn't it? Which is key to why not to use it on your paintwork. It will strip out vital oils from the paint which can also contribute to fading and generally drying out the paintwork in much the same way as it dries out your hands. Which is why I would never recommend it comes anywhere near a car, even for stripping wax protection. Especially when there's plenty of reasonably priced products out there that will do the job better and more safely.

Washing up liquid contains salt

Not good for paintwork, though I have used it in the past to wash the £150 Cortina I used to own
