Thumbs down Going back in for repairs - advice please?

Well another missed opportunity. Today my car went in for it's first 'variable' service in...at just over 10k...& 15 months old (I've done <5k in the 6 months I've had it)

I called up to book it in & asked what the cost would be (parts & labour) - was quoted £145 all in. When I turned up to drop it off before work...the garage was still all locked up. That should have been a warning...turns out the service manager had left (maybe before he was pushed?) & even tho' someone did eventually 'open up'...I was initially told it would be another 45mins before the service desk would be manned !!! I persuaded the old guy to take the keys & check there was a job card with details of the points I wanted checked under warranty. There was a job card...but no points to check. I went thro' them again. When I called up later when the service desk opened, they had been recorded

I then received a message to call them about my car mid afternoon...they couldn't 'find' a couple of the faults....the rattle/vib under the car on acceleration at around 1000rpm (common on here?), squeak/squeel from suspension (especially drivers side) over bumps & the indicators which have a tendancy not to self cancel.

I again went thro' the problems, trying to help them locate them. An hour later I was told may car was ready to pick up.

However when I got there, of the 5 points I asked them to look at, they claimed to have resolved 1 (one, the loose drivers door trim !)...but only after I'd asked for an explaination of what had/hadn't been done. All the others were marked NFF (no fault found?)...including the misting up, that had been investigated but never resolved on the previous 4 or 5 occasions it has been in !

Then the best bit, that will be £215 please...and when I queried it, I was told they had discounted it by £20 already....grateful?....nope thoroughly annoyed ! Rather than take my frustrations out on the lassie on the service desk...I spoke to the salesman who sold me the car & told him, I was disappointed, pssed off etc...& that I would happily sell him the car back. He assured me, he get someone to call me to get this whole thing fixed.

By the time I got home, a 'troubleshooter' had called, apologising, asking for details & a chance to fix things. He said he been brought in by the dealer group to resolve the problems they had been having at this place ! I agreed to take the car in to demo the problems...& plan to mention the cost issue...along with the fact my car was filthy when I picked it up...considering I'd just paid £215 for an oil change...I'd expected it would get a wash too !

Just realised I've gone on a bit of a rant here...yes I am pretty fed up...great car + terrible service = enough reason to change back to a decent marque if it doesn't improve.

Oh...and the door trim was loose 2hrs later !

Why not write up your thoughts in the dealers section, that's what it's for.

Crappy service indeed. But wouldn't it be an easier solution to just go somewhere else for serviceing rather than change vehicles ?
