Dual Climate cutting out

Has anyone had a problem with their dual climate control cutting out? if so how did you sort it?

Is there a batch of faulty compressors for example?

I start the car and the climate control is set to say 18C. When it is hot outside and it need to put on the blowers full wack it stops.

The lights showing the fan speed are still right over to max but the fans have stopped.

However this doesnt happen all of the time. When its not so hot outside and the system doesnt need to work as hard, it doesnt cut out at all - even if i knock the temp right down,

Re: Dual Climate cutting out

The only thing I've come across on mine is that sometimes when I press auto, I notice the temp figure has gone to 72. I turn it down to 60 or "lo" and it all gets going. But yours does sound more like a fault. When it cuts out, see if the temp figure that you set has changed to a high one.

Re: Dual Climate cutting out

I've heard of it before on here. I think it's just a fan fan fault of some kind.

Re: Dual Climate cutting out

If it were a BMW I would say it was the CC resistor pack.
I would assume Skoda CC would have a similar system for controlling the fan speed.

It could be that but it's usually only the most commonly speed resistors that go so you only lose those 1 or 2 speeds. Pre 2000 Honda Civics went through resistor packs like sweeties.

Having said that I would say the Skoda speed control system is probably more complicated than that.

Re: Dual Climate cutting out

turned out to be the controller unit behind the dash which has its own little computer to control the climate.

Swapped out and it seems to be working fine again now
