Gone an' bought a VRS

Yep gone and done it at last. Sold the Fabia VRS to the son (40K on clock but new engine 10K ago after he turned it into a submarine - but runs fine now) and ordered a new VRS TDI estate in race blue.
Great price from Autosales in Cannock - their first offer was better than "Drive the Deal" !!
Collecting in March when I get back from my hols.
Roll on March !!

Excellent choice there, and the best colour too.

Glad you agree.
Choice was easy really ...
Silver - too common in general (plus the flies on the farm next door seem to love silver cars - they never touched my red Fabia but continue defecate all over the wife's silver freelander
Black - had a black car once - never again - shows every speck of dirt.
Red - done that.
Yellow - alright on a track car covered in stickers.

That's why every other VRs you ever see is Race Blue.

Having said that every third one you see is Black.

I'd be tempted if I was buying again to go for White.

Yes I'll admit that they do look good in black. But for the roads I have to use it's no good, as I saw when I had my black Fabia.

Forget the colour; you've bought the TDI!

Welcome to the blue TDi club, Jules59

bahnstormervrs
- Would it be possible for you to recalculate the colour/engine split ratio? Maybe not on the register itself but another sticky perhaps? I would but I was never any good at maths

No Calculations particularly required; just (mostly) sums, addition and subtraction. Anyway; here's the present Colour/Engine stats from the vRS Register;-

There are now 270 declared vRS owners. The colour choice is -

Blue - 141 - 52.2%
Black - 75 - 27.8%
Silver - 30 - 11.1%
Red - 16 - 5.9%
White - 3 - 1.1%
Yellow - 5 - 1.9%

Total - 270

Engine preference - TFSI - 179 (inc. those not specified)
- TDI - 91

TFSI to TDI ratio (no. 49 onward) 133:91 - 40.06% TDI

NB> I have not taken any account of any that are now 'Sold' (just added the new ones to the earlist stats.

Re: Gone an' bought a VRS

Hmmm, yellow is obviously going to be the outsider - lots of people love it but wouldn't dare to get one. It seems blue is almost too common, silver is a bit bland (but good if subtle is your thing), and black means keeping it clean is a full time job - so looks like sensible people buy red!

Re: Gone an' bought a VRS

My local dealer has had 2 yellow vRS's sat on the forcourt for ages. 1 I know seems to have been a bit of a lemon, had all the suspension and new engine parts in under 3 months.
