Help! A springy bit has come off.

OK it may have had some help from my husband. He was fitting a Nokia Bluetooth car kit and was looking for somewhere to run the wires so he removed the aircon controls as he did the springy rod seamed to come out of somewhere and he now can’t put it back. It must control the airflow, as it is now in defrost mode all the time. Please can someone advise (other then cursing him harm). I have added pic’s that may give some clues as to where it came from.
Thanks J.

Don't know,
I try to upload them again but I keep getting an error. Sorry not to good with computers.

Hubby had another go at getting the thing back in last night but just cut his hand. Not a happy bunny. We can’t see where it came out, we know one end clips into the **** that directs the air.

Re: Help! A springy bit has come off.

Sounds like the rod that connects the kn0b to the control at the back

Not seen one on an Octy but have seen it on the Fabia. About 6-8 inches long IIRC.

Happens a fair bit.

Not to tricky to refit.
