| On our L&K DSG with memory seats and mirrors, the left-hand mirror tilts down when you select reverse to give you a view of the kerb. An excellent idea, and one which helps avoid scuffed wheels, but when you change into drive it stays tilted down for 15-20 seconds - not only a nuisance but dangerous if you need the mirror to check for traffic. Is this delay normal, or should I mark it up for attention at the dealer? |

| It's to give you time to set your trilby at a jaunty angle and light your pipe Seriously though it sound like too long a delay.

| I have an L&K and I haven't noticed the left hand mirror tilting down at all. Do you have to set this in a down position using one of the seats memory settings or should it do it automatically? If the latter can you adjust how much it tilts down? |

| The other odd thing is if you set the control for nearside, only it moves, but if you set it to do driver's side. both move together. So apparently you have to set the driver's one where you want it first, then alter the nearside alone if it isn't right. |

| To Quote the manual............ Tilting surface of front exterior passenger mirror "When the rotary **** is in position R, and the reverse gear is engaged, the surface of the mirror tilts down slightly. This provides an aid for seeing the kerb of the pavement when parking the car." Furthermore: "The mirror returns back to its initial position, if the speed is more than 15Kph, opr the rotary **** is moved out of position R and put in another position." I think that this is reasonable clear. |

| I test drove an Elegance trimmed Superb, and had this feature. Being someone who has correctly adjusted mirrors, I thoroughly hated this option. I found it caused a lack of vision and awareness.

If you still insist on wanting to change the settings, can these not be changed by VAG-COM or at your local dealers, the same way you can amend the central locking settings, alarm/ immobilisor settings etc?? JD
