Default L & K ESP or ASR

I am looking at buying a 1.9 L & K on a 07 plate. The dash has a ASR button, I am assured by the dealer that all L & Ks have ESP as standard, and the build plan on the Skoda computer shows ESP. The only explanation is the wrong button was fitted at the factory, or is it? Comments please.

Don't know but they did alter the spec of the L&K last year iirc

IIRC the spec of the L&K was changed quite a bit in Feb/March 2007. ESP was fitted as standard after this.

I believe it was just ASR on the pre Feb/March models but the one you are looking at could be the older model but registered later on.

And I also believe they dropped the 1.9TDI engine for the spec revision.

The revised L&K has amongst other things AS STANDARD:

Xenon headlamps
ESP
Illuminated interior door handles (the best thing to check as this is exclusive to the revised model and not available as an option)
17" Sputnik 9 spoke alloy wheels
Gloss black trim inserts in the door and dash
Chrome exhaust tips (instead of normal steel on the older model)
Audience stereo unit with in built 6 CD stacker
Light leather interior or black leather/alcantara with heated front seats in addition to electrical drivers seat adjustment.

This is all in addition to the Elegance spec

Have a look here for more details:

L&K Spec

My new model L&K has an ESP button behind the DSG gearstick - press it and the orange skid symbol lights on the dash to show esp is off.

Thanks DSTEV2000, the car seems to have a some of what you list but not others. Do you know if there is a piece of hardware thats easily visible that is only on ESP equipped cars? Other than the switch obviously

Is it a Storm blue April 2007 Estate?

If it's the one i've found then I can tell you 100% guaranteed it is NOT a revised L&K and as such wouldn't have ESP as standard, I am pretty sure it was an option on the older model but hopefully someone can verify that.

If it has an ASR button then I'd bet it has ASR not ESP. ESP only became standard when they upped the spec to the same as on the continent.

My previous Elegance had an ASR button, which was traction control only. My new L&K had an ESP button, so I'd bet money on it being traction control only.
